I very early video of Leo Hartley on a rockbox cajon filmed up at Manly, North Head.
I like singing but can never remember lyrics, so excuse my interpretation of this song.
This drum had one of my early snare designs, with a vertical post and timber arm holding the snare wire.
It was quite difficult to tune, sometimes I'd spend hours trying to get it right.

One of the many suitcase cajons I designed. Made from maple timber, front back and sides. This one has a sliding aperture and my quick release snare system.
It never sold any, but I made approximately 20 control models which I still have. Each one differs in some way.

As you can hear the reverb is over the top!
This drum has a maple timber frame and a 2.8mm maple ply hitting panel.
The drum is conveniently sized for travel, light and tough, with dovetail joinery on the frame.
Close your eyes and listen to that bass and snare with headphones on.
